Boycottford.com

One of the world's biggest car companies, Ford, advocates gay rights in its advertisements. As long as this is quite a support, some do not like this action, rather protest it.

AFA, American Family Association, which is against gay rights, had been complaining about the Ford's attitude since 2005, made a cite Boycottford.com to claim the refusal to buy Ford cars.

They emphasize the effect of their boycott on the web, saying "Ford sales have dropped in 17 of the 19 months since AFA began a boycott of the company."

It reminds us of the fact many people don't appreciate homosexuality, they rather loathe it.

What is "natural"?

Same as cloning piggies and cows, surrogacy and freezing of sperms/eggs are often questioned, or rather accused as "unnatural."

It has a lot to do with our spiritual concern that "things are supposed to happen just the way they do." But when it comes to "natural" or "normal," where should we draw that line?

We change our hairdo, fake our hair color, and put make-ups. We know how to treat a disease, by taking medications and procedures. Abortion has always been discussed as a controversial issue. Should we stop or keep going ?

And most of the all, we wouldn't be such civilized human kinds if we were satisfied the world we had. Some may fear we are reaching the point where god stands, or destroying ourselves with civilization.

The most scary thing is, there is no referee.

To name a few of the people put into a ranking, the 3rd is Oscar Wilde, 20th is Shakespeare, and 99th is Madonna.

How confident can you be with which sex you belong to?

Referred as "sex", the sex of body and the sex of brain are determined at different time, not necessarily congenial to each other.

Without special catalyst(event) to happen to, a mammal is supposed to grow as female, even though its gene is XY.

A male/female sex hormone has a lot do with the construction of your gender system.
This hormone should work at a suitable time with a desirable amount of it, or your body and brain may chose contradicting sex.

Individual sex is not something you can put in order.
The study toward the discovery is still keeps going, for human is much more complicated than any other mammals.

Belgian babies are all the rage for French lesbian couples

According to Gay Japan.com, there is a growing number of French lesbian couples to achieve "artificial insemination" (artificial pregnancy with donor sperm) in Belgium, the neighbour of France.

This is because the act between homosexual couples is forbidden in their country. For the arrival of lesbian couples, Belgium now has a "little baby boom".

Natalie Bassak , who has given a birth to three children through the method, says "There are no prejudice towards homosexual couples in Belgium. They rather welcomed us."

However, this trend is currently so "in" that the reservation for artificial pregnancy has a "wait list."

It might be the time for France to deal with the problem by their own.

According to Globe and Mail in May 22 / 2007, Natasha Baird, the 32-year-old adoption mother -to-be has been able to breastfeed her baby through the helps of lactation drugs and supplementers.

Breastfeeding is so big in child care/medical authorities now. Breastfeeding is fixed in almost everyone's mind as CRUCIALLY IMPORTANT.

With more lesbian or even reproductively-challenged mothers, eyes on induced breastfeeding is growing.

However, this is of course no easy work. "Getting the milk to flow remains a demanding process for mothers who haven't given birth. In addition to the hormones and the domperidone, mothers-to-be must pump around the clock - all the while knowing that the adoption could fall through. Adoptive mothers who want to breastfeed say they often face resistance from many of the players involved in the adoption process, including doctors, social workers, foster families and even the birth mother."

Ms. Baird, who is in the process of adopting her baby almost 2 years old , says her hard work is worthy. "I couldn't get pregnant but I could breastfeed," she says. "My body was finally doing what it was supposed to do."

Children of Homosexual Parents

According to Charlotte J. Patterson, courts' concerns about the influence which kids get from their gay parents are on three dimensions: their sexual identity, mental health, and social environment. (Patterson, Charlotte. "Children of Lesbian&Gay Parents." public interest . 2007)

First, It is feared that growth of sexual identity will be distorted or damaged among children of homosexual parents. Which is, being brought up by gay/lesbian parents, children have a struggle in forming "gender identity" and acknowledging "gender role."

It is also considered that children who have gay/lesbian parents are likely to be gay/lesbian as well.

Second, courts worry children with gay or lesbian parents will be much vulnerable, find complication in adjustment in social life, thus possess poor mental condition. This is more of their personal progress in life than gender identity.

Third is a conventional issue. Courts simply express their concern with the hostilities or difficulties children of gay/lesbian parents will encounter in society.

You can easily imagine that children who have homosexual parents will be ridiculed, persecuted, or even sympathized by fellows.

On homosexual parents' influence on children's gender identity, I don't think it is a bad effect; for they can have open-minded attitude toward sexual orientation.

The fact children of gay/lesbian parents are much more likely to be vulnerable, probably have a lot to do with the third issue(social struggle). However, this is mostly the society's, which means our fault....

Gay adoption

Currently it’s illegal in many places around the world for a homosexual couple to adopt a child. This is a difficult issue because unlike gay marriage that only affects homosexuals; gay adoption affects children who have nothing to do with this controversial issue.

Firstly, I believe that the quality of parenting is measured by the ability of parents to love their child, and has absolutely nothing to do with their sexual orientation. Also The American Psychological Association suggests that

"not a single study has found children of gay or lesbian parents to be disadvantaged in any significant respect relative to children of heterosexual parents," and concluded that "home environments provided by gay and lesbian parents are as likely as those provided by heterosexual parents to support and enable children's psychosocial growth."

Secondly, gay people have to adopt a child to have a son or a daughter. So it is unfair for them to ban gay adoption, because this will eliminate their chance of having a child who they can love. Also it is certainly unfair for the children who are waiting to get adopted.

However I can’t readily agree with the legalization of gay adoption because of the prejudice toward the homosexuals.

Because of this prejudice, a child who is adopted by a homosexual couple has a high possibility of getting ridiculed, bullied or even becoming completely excluded from their peers. This is a pain that is unnecessary for anyone to suffer.

To avoid children suffering from an issue that they are completely unrelated with, I believe that it is important to reduce the prejudice towards homosexuals before the legalization of gay adoption.

HIV is a gay disease???

This shocking ad is not from devoted Christians or extreme homophobes.

Actually, this is sponsored by A Gay and Lesbian Community Center.

Of course, as their position tells, they don't intend to torture gay people. Instead, they expect the ad would lead to more acknowledgement and responsibility to own and end the epidemic in gay community.

This tactics is causing a controversy among gay communities. Even though I was intrigued by the self-attacking encouragement, I also question this ad campaign.

If I hear "AID is a women's disease, " I would definitely say respond "What the heck are you talking about!? It's everybody's disease!"

I mentioned the high percentage of infection through annul sex, and even bug chasing trend, though most HIV cases are still from heterosexual intercourse.

This ad may bring about the wrong message in our society.

No one should label themselves.

Here is the introduction of Greagory A.Freeman's interview with Carslos, who desperately wants to be HIV positive.

When you do risky, thrilling thing, like he said, having sex in parents' room, are you ready to get caught? I doubt it. Such behavior is so third grade!!

How Bug Chasing is Florishing

Most gay people surf Internet occasionally, for it is harder for them to find their community or mates.

So just like other fetishes, bug chasing or bare backing, their term for unprotected sex (without condom = bare), can be found online.
There are sites like "barebacking.com(age restriction:18)", or"bugchaser.com"
They use user names showing their desire: Knockmeup, BugMeSoon, and ConvertMeSir.
Their posts are saying such as "I really want to be converted! Breed/Seed me soon!!"

The editor of Rolling Stone magazine states that bug chasing "could not exist without the Internet, or at least it couldn't thrive."
Truly ironic, for we share our thoughts and informative resources on PC/laptop, right here right now.

Surprisingly, or more unbelievably, there is a growing trend in gay community; pursuing to get infected by HIV, the virus triggering AIDS.
In their words, a gay man who long to be HIV positive is "bug chaser," and a gay man who possesses the AID virus is "gift givers."

I assume you all scream in your head "What wrong with them!?"

Of course the number is small, though spreading and infecting, literally and figuratively.

There are 3 major factors to make HIV catchy for gay: the excitement of breaking the most forbidden,the desire for a cohesively bonded community, and the release from anxiety about getting infected.

First of all, deliberately sharing HIV is not to mention

the ultimate taboo.

This fact is appealing for some who have tried most sexual plays.

Infecting HIV with themselves are of utmost extreme in sex.

Secondly, even HIV+ community is something to embrace for lost and lonely minorities.

Sharing the same torture, they also share the solid tie which they can with anybody else.

HIV+ circle provides some with emotional home to come by.

Finally, It occurs to their mind ;"Once you get it, you don't have to worry about getting anymore. You're free."

They dream of the moment to take off their "safe-sex" cuffs.

Prejudice towards homosexuality

When you hear the phrase homosexual, what kind of impression do you get? Is it positive, or negative? Unfortunately majority of people will come up with negative images such as sick, unnatural and immoral, and not many people would come up with a positive image. This is because of the inaccurate stereotypes and the lack of information provided by the society.

Our society often portrays the majority as the norm and the minority as abnormal, and we tend to attempt to eliminate what is abnormal, in this case, the homosexuals. In my opinion, banning gay marriage is attempt made by the society to eliminate gays and lesbians. However, I think this is a complete nonsense because homosexual behavior will never be completely eliminated.

Homosexuality exists since the time bible was written. (This is proven because the bible forbids homosexuality) This means that homosexual behavior was observed 2000+ years ago. And it is highly unlikely for a behavior that has existed for 2000+ years to suddenly disappear. Also, if a behavior with a history of 2000+ years is not considered natural, I'm not sure what would be considered natural.

So why attempt to eliminate homosexuality? Love, I believe is the strongest of all human emotion and in my opinion no one should have the right to tell anyone who they can or can not love. It may be impossible to take away the prejudice towards gays and lesbians, but in my opinion this world will be a lot better place if homosexuality could be acknowledged as a natural human behavior.

Accused of spreading HIV ”intentionally”

In Melbourne, Australia, 48 years old man was accused of "deliverately infecting HIV with his partners." Michael Neal is charged with 106cases, including rape and intentional HIV spreading.

The health department acknowledged his risky (sex)lifestyle, though never filled in the police.

The reason is, concerns on privacy protection was put higher position.

The Court's focus was where to draw the line of crime.

Neal has been denied bail until the his next appearance in court in September.

AIDS and Gay

The percentage or HIV transmission through intercourse is not so high. That is, if not anal sex.

The reason to back up the intense HIV proficiency in gay community is that they have anal sex.





Because the strenghth of anus mocosa is one-tenth of that of vagina, anus is even more vulnable.
Beside, blood vessels are concentrated in anus, encouraging virus coming into vessels.

To prevent the transmission, the use of condoms is crucially important, just like heterosexuals.

The Seed of "Homophobia"

I've seen tolerate, open-minded comment about homosexuality from you. Some even said "What's wrong with that?"

So today, I'd like to talk about "homophobia," the hatred toward homosexuals.

What is rooted in homophobia may help us explore why homosexuality is placed in such an accused position, and deepen knowledge and understanding.

The biggest trigger was AIDS/HIV. It was 1981 when one unprecedented and unknown disease was reported to be pervasive among homosexual people in the US.

Soon where/who started the infection was investigated.

The developer was a handsome purser working for an international airline company; He brought the souvenir from Africa in 1980, to NY, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and even Toronto in Canada. As you know, he was, gay.

Since 1981, the society has labeled homosexuality with AID.

Futhermore, some championed that gay patients deserved it for pursuing their hedoistic sexuality. Religious people considered the disease had to be a punishment from God.

Even though HIV was discovered to be popular also among drug-users and hemophiliacs in 1982, the medical descovery was too late to turn back the solid homophobia.

Kanako Otsuji - the first lesbian candidate

She has been a member of Osaka prefecture assembly as a woman, but now she is running for the big election as a lesbian. The poll will be held in September, however, she has already made a huge impression through an "unofficial" wedding with her partner.

The focus of her policy making is , of course, to form

a supportive society for the minority (meaning mostly homosexuals in Japan).

Furthermore, she addresses

"Everyone should introduce themselves just the way they are."

I'm worried that she will probably be only the center of curiosity, not political expectation.

For the care for homosexuals are so behind here in Japan.

(I will probably talk about that in another post)

Yet her blinding energy is definitely something to lift citizens up!!

I'm a girl who is trying to come out of her shell, though feeling nervous to see what is inside of the shell. Perhaps every single one of us is worried if they can accept the "whole" themselves.

However as I see her on TV or magazines, I become solidly confident to say

There is no need to be afraid of 100% you.

What my Lesbian Friend is Saying・・・

Her girlfriend, 20, has been straight.

So she feels greatly responsible, saying

"If we broke up, it would be real difficult for her to restart as straight."

The reason is because "she cannot expect what we have from men."

Sharing love and affection with a woman, you can get the emotional tie you ever dreamed of.

Your partner is able to understand you, and be sensitive to your feelings.

You'd experience a cohesive bond in the relationship.

Even sex could be great.

Of course she doesn't have "the tool," though she is far from CLUELESS about what you want.

In many dramas, we see couples saying "It's okay, we can talk about this" and going nowhere.

However in a woman-woman relationship, you may really talk about things.

My Friend's Observation

One of my friend's friend is lesbian, and I got to fetch her opinions about homosexuality and bisexuality.

She considers an environmental trigger is the major cause in most cases, for the body always tells you to adore the opposite sex.

According to her, a girl attracted to the female might have -
・hated her dad
・loved her mom
・been fond of beautiful things
・been used to women's community
They are just for instance.

Homosexuality ― born or made?

Finding out whether the biology or the environment forms homosexuality has been a question to be asked since always.

You may say sex orientation is innate, determined by the number of Xs and Ys.
You could also champion that social circumstance is the trigger or catalyst for sexual fettish.

Either way, we tend to confirm that homosexuality must be biologically or mentally "impaired."

In 1999, The Quaker meeting called "Te Hahi Tuhauwiri" in New Zealand exposed their pro statement about queer sex orientation.

Uranism by Karl Heinrich Ulrichs

Before the term "homosexual" was coined by a doctor Karl Maria Benkert, the study of same-sex love was already explored by one lawyer.

In 1864, Karl Heinrich Ulrichs established "Uranism", which he described as the third sexuality derived from a female spirit trapped in a body of a man.

In his theory, there is a male spirit in each man's body, and a female spirit in each woman's body. What he calls Uranism is when this concept is denied; when one possesses a contradicting spirit-body bond.

Of course, some may disagree with his definition of homosexuality, for he claimed that gay people are all sissy or half-woman.

However,as he launched the idea that homosexuality is innate and congenital, he is considered the first Gay activist.

Legal Recongnition of same-sex partnership in Europe

European Region of the International Lesbian and Gay Federation (ILGA-Europe)
offers a list of European countries and their approach
with same-sex couple hood/family.

They categorize 3 types of legalizing gay couples: matrimony, officialized relationship/concubinage, unofficialized concubinage.

Now gay people a crucial element for entertainment. When it comes to beauty and culture, they are the experts. They know those things better than men, and better than women.
They know what they are, and how to live as themselves.

They are fabulous!!!

NGO that is related to this issue

The International Lesbian and Gay Association (ILGA) is an international non-profit, non-governmental organization that strives for the equity for all lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered (LGBT) people. ILGA tries to achieve this goal by supporting programs and protest actions, asserting diplomatic pressure, providing information and working with international organizations and the international media.

ILGA keeps their group running by the donation and the membership fees. From the ILGA website, people can make a donation to ILGA, and they can join ILGA as well. ILGA currently has more than 400 member groups from around 90 countries across the world. ILGA member groups range from small collectives to national groups and entire cities.

ILGA seems like an organisation that is open to everyone who is interested in equality for LGBT people. But my interest towards the equity for LGBT people isn't that high so I probably would never consider joining this group.

Partners must be evidently asking for a family.

In any adoption/surrogacy law, a couple has to be married to get officialized as parents.

If you live in a society, you may eventually want to form a family?
As long as you would like to marry him/her, are you considering a baby, hopefully the one whose blood is mixed by you two?
Well, that's an understandable dream.

There are two major opinions about matrimony; marriage should be between the two love birds, or shared in both families and the society to which they belong. I think the latter is more rational and logical. I also believe, one of the anchors pulling back our anti-gay marriage concept is the fear of shaking our current social structure.
Allowing gay marriege, what may come next? What would happen to their offsprings? Are we torelate enough not to discard them, disgrace them, or otherwise victimize them?

If we are not ready for the considerable anxiety, what could we do to be ready??

Gay marriage

“Homosexuals should be treated equally.” Most people would agree with this statement. Most people would agree that homosexuals should have the same rights in education, employment, politics, etc. Yet gay marriage is forbidden in many countries because of the religious issues, social issues, cultural issues etc. Where is this contradiction coming from?

Why is gay marriage banned? What are we trying to achieve by doing this? It's not like banning gay marriage will decrease the number of homosexuals. Because homosexual people doesn't choose be homosexuals, they are just born that way. Banning gay marriage just makes homosexuals suffer, and also it reinforces the negative thought held by people towards homosexuals. It may be impossible for all human beings to have the equal right, but in my opinion, at least marriage should be equal for everyone so people can marry the person they love the most.


This blog puts its focus on homosexual rights including marriage, adoption, or surrogating motherhood. Since the last two may come after forming matrimony, we set our topic as "Gay Marriage."
